Extrinsic Skin Aging, is different from genetic predisposition to wrinkles and other features of skin aging. Extrinsic aging is defined as effects to the skin that are environmental and partially under our control, ar face, arms hands, neck. Changes you see are deep wrinkles, dyspigmentation, telangiectasia (visible small blood vessels).
There are 4 simple tactics that are simple, but not always easy!
Number One is diet,. A mediterranean type diet witn .8mg/kg body weight of protein, vitamin C and copper, with a preponderance of plant based foods, nuts, whole grains, fruit and vegetables. Moderate amounts, of seafood poultry dairy and eggs, occasional red meat. Good for skin! Higher amounts of carbohydrates and fats has been associated with more wrinkles and skin atrophy.
Number Two tip is exercise, but though aerobic exercise is definitely helpful, resistance training , such as weight training, resistance bands, pushups and kettle bells for example is key and can lead to a more robust dermal layer, a layer below the surface. Both aerobic and resistance training led to better elasticity of skin, but resistance training led to the increased dermal thickness key to countact sagging and wrinkles, so you need both!
