here cuz im osaka-jin and too happy just to stay still watching this. we r said to be very friendly but as a local there, its difficult to know we r acctually. but now I know. its interesting to hear about my home place from u guys perspective. thank u😊

I totally agree with you guys as a one of Japanese people who live in Kanagawa. Osaka is a good place. it’s much easier there to adapt to the culture and get to know people because they’re willing they want to share their culture and be so welcoming. But I don’t want to move out there.笑笑

How is Osaka different from Tokyo? You might think that all Japanese people are very cold and distant, but if you go to Osaka, you will find a lot of people more friendly and easier to get along with.
Unfortunately, Osaka has fewer job opportunities, and that's why the majority of foreigners living in Japan actually live in Tokyo.
So, if you think you are an introvert, it's a good idea to go to Osaka first, as it can be a good "training wheels" for a foreigner to get used to Japan.

Eastern and Western Japan have different ethnicities. Roughly border is the Japanese Alps mountain range. There isn't much mixed race either. That's true reason for the cultural differences. Western Japan is more attractive for foreigners, but Americans find it easier to live in Tokyo. Many eastern Japanese people deeply admire American and being fascinated

As a native Osakan it was so fun to watch this video 🤣 I felt the same way as Austin-san when I moved to Tokyo but now I used to the atmosphere and I feel confortable. No one cares me, no one ask me something private or my pay check I got recently here 🤣
Well I love my hometown too

I am a bit surprised to watch, because you guys feel the same atmosphere for Japanese, although Tokyo people get used to foreigners compared to Osaka/Fukuoka people.
(because there is more foreigners)

I think the reason you guys feel Tokyo is like an artificial city is that most of people live in Tokyo is NOT originally from Tokyo like me.
Myself was grown up in Osaka (till 18 years old), and moved to Kanto area and have been in Toky more than 17 years.

If I may be so bold, communities in Tokyo have a relatively short history rather than any other area.
It is like - as NewYork is expressed a melting pot of many nationalities, Tokyo is a melting pot of Japanese is coming from different prefectures.
There are many open minded and friendly person in Tokyo as well.

In my feeling, Osaka and Tokyo people not so difference regard to personality. But old day and age of osaka is more openminded

I've been living in Osaka's two main urban areas, Umeda and Namba, for years. I wouldn't say it's just Tokyo, but more like "urban areas" in general where you see a lot of weirdos, especially acting in ways that feel unnatural. It's not even like they want to act that way on purpose, but they can't help it because of the weird atmosphere.

Some of my childhood friends ended up turning into typical “urban Japanese weirdos.” They usually just say they've "grown up."

I guess it's all about densely populated areas. In those kinds of places, people can’t stay natural.

But yeah, so it’s really hard to explain why so many people(including Japanese), including myself, still live in urban areas. It might be virtually impossible for most people to -
