1’21 first run; Spoilery stuff below

I assess the same way each time for 7x7 and smaller. Same questions I’ve mentioned. Same solve style focused on the optimum (for solve efficiency) next segment rather than the next known digit.

— spoilery stuff —

So, I went with the r3 baseline first. Plays out immediately.

Then tho I went back row by row looking for more of those self-solving runs I call baselines.

On r2 now, you can play 3 on c3. This gives you 2 on c4 which yields 1 on c5 and 4 on c3.

After c4r2, if you immediately play c4r1 it’s easy to overlook how r2 can develop. That why I try to finish the segment I’m in before moving to the next.

Whatever I’ve discovered elsewhere will a) still be in my head when I get to that segment and b) cannot easily further affect the segment I am actually resolving. I might get lost or start chasing Pokémon.

Then r1 completes. r2 needs help, so r4 where c5 places. Pigeonholing the rest gives you 124 in c2-c4 and 56 in c1/c6. After you place the 56 (c6 has a 6) you have enough to complete r2.

Bottom left collapses under the weight. Then bottom right.

Plays very fast for a 7x7. Not as fast as Puzzle 9 though.
