Cerave Moisturizing Lotion vs. Cerave Moisturizing Cream

Skincare is a very personal thing, as what works for you may not work for another.

CeraVe Lotion: is recommended for normal to dry skin, but is more toward normal or oily. I have combination skin and this isn’t as hydrating as I need it to be. What I do to boost up the hydration, is by pairing it with hyaluronic acid.
I prefer this as a body lotion.

CeraVe Cream: is recommended for very dry to dry skin. It contains hyaluronic acid, has a thick consistency similar to body butter. I recommend you take a pea-sized amount for application.

I’ve been using the cream for years and honestly it’s made me look younger than what I am. I’m a 42 year old Latino guy and I put it all over my face, under my eyes and neck before I go to sleep at night. I always get told I look 10 years younger. Two nights ago I met a girl and told me I looked 30. Feels good honestly, especially cuz I feel old but I don’t look beat up or shot out like other people my age lol All thanks to the CeraVe cream!! I recently started using the lotion and you’re right, it is lighter and non oily like the cream. I’m barely trying it out so we’ll see.

I bought both, I have oily skin and prefer the CeraVe Moisturising lotion on my face. It just absorbed so easily and is very lightweight. My skin feels so soft. With the CeraVe Moisturising cream it was heavier and I felt it on my skin most of the day. It was still good though.

I also noticed that the order of the active ingredients in the cream is higher, implying that the cream is more concentrated and therefore more efficient.

I recommend applying the cream when your face is damp (not wet). You can also use a spray toner first and then apply the cream since it's a lot thicker.

This review was very helpful... I'm trying to decide which I prefer the lotion or cream. I think I'll by both (one for spring/summer, other for fall/winter) but may start off with the lotion. I'd have to gradually work my way toward the creams, anything heavy on my face will make my skin itch or pore cloggy. New sub, btw!

I’ve been using the cera ve lotion on my crepey skin and it is gone, I use it a couple times a day, I just love the results. I’m 75 and my skin looks and feels so soft.

I've used both and I like the moisturizing cream better. It strangely sits a lot better under makeup than the lotion. I get a lot of pilling when I use the lotion under my makeup. 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️😄

I use the moisturising lotion. I have balanced (normal ) leaning toward dry according to my dermatologist. Usually lotions dry me out but this one 👌works and actually hydrates . I checked the bottle to see what skin type it's for and it's says dry to extra dry. I checked the cream and it says normal to dry. I was confused cause I always thought creams were for drier skin. Anyways I don't care what the label says I'm gonna continue using this lotion. 😊
