Nutribullet vs Nutri Ninja (ALMOND BUTTER TEST!)

Can the Nutri Ninja OR Nutribullet grind nuts into almond butter?

In this video, I put both of them to the test.

I tried to fill the cups up as evenly as possible with ROASTED and cooled almonds given they were two different sizes.

I tested it without oil, with oil it would probably be easier/different.

The Nutribullet Pro 900 did way better because it was able to create a vortex and pull the almonds towards the blades.

The Nutri Ninja Auto IQ struggled to form a vortex and kept pushing the nuts to the side of the cup.

Both did a good job at grinding nuts into powder.

Neither of these are ideal for almond butter WITHOUT ANY OIL, but you could probably get away with it in the Nutribullet if you REALLY wanted...

Instead - I'd recommend getting a refurbished Vitamix or Blendtec for the job. Neither are THAT much more expensive and have much longer warranties in case something goes wrong when you're doing hard and thick blends like this.

So keep in mind I did this test WITHOUT any oil. When you buy nut butter in the store, it doesn't have ADDED oil, so I figure why add it to the recipe.

Want me to do a future video tested it with oil? It would probably work.

Nutribullet is the best ... i am using one every day since 11 years still working well

A regular food processor makes great nut butters. I just add the nuts, turn it on, walk away, come back in 5 minutes, and I have my butter. Mine is a Kitchenaid, and it’s always on the counter.

Why didn't you try the blend setting? It changes speed to help with the blending process. All you did was spin the almond crumbs.

This guy made my day with his struggling odyssey and chef hat🤣🤣🤣

I don't know why companies make blenders with only a blade at the bottom and don't instead make a spiral blade that extends almost to the top of the container. That seems to me like a big design flaw because food has to either be shaken or rearranged to reach the blade and be fully blended to a creamy consistency. I have a Magic Bullet and it does OK for liquids but not great on anything dry. Doing smaller amounts at a time and then scooping them out into the jar you're going to keep the butter in will work. It just takes a bit longer.

This was the perfect review video! Exactly what I needed. Everything else on YouTube on the subject isn't good enough to allow you to make a definitive decision. Thank you for taking the time to make this!

Yes! These definitely have their place but my Vitamix will liquefy nuts into butter in just a couple of minutes. It has a tool to push everything down when it goes to the sides.
I roast pecans, add dates or date sugar and a pinch of Himalayan salt. Delicious!
Roasted cashews with organic unsweetened coconut, salt also delicious 😋
Going to try walnuts with maple and cinnamon.

Nutribullet isn’t meant to be on for that long; I’m glad you didn’t burn out the motor.

You need to use the Milling Blade - it's designed for this task. The standard blender blade will throw contents around i.e. onto the container walls.

The problems with the bigger blenders though... you have to make a lot for the blades to make good contact, then digging the contents out without wasting half of what you made. I don't know which is more frustrating.

Add a small bit of coconut oil to help things along

Stopped at 2:25 to comment. That Nutribullet spinning wildly and then catching is extremely hard on the motor and bearings and the blades! Then the fact that it really didn't do a very good job and needed constant adjustment!
After also watching the Ninja, I am not impressed at all with either of these.

I'm glad I watched this video. At least I now know what not to buy.

Thanks

Almond butter is one of the hardest butters to make, even with a blender that has 2.2hp the consistency of almond butter is much more dense and thick than lets say than peanut butter. the type of blenders this guy is using is very limited to what it can do

There is a grinding blade attachment for the nutri blender. Both came with mine. You are using the wrong blade and not pulsing.

Why would you do a review and stop because you get frustrated... 🙄🙄

Its frustrating watching a review and not being able to get ANSWERS!!

The larger diameter canister can’t keep the powdery nut material within the path of the Ninja’s blade. Neither machine does that well as they are being used here. I would try adding slightly warm water (95 F) for processing; when completed, dump into an open wide mouth container (jar) and let the excess water evaporate out...stirring it several times daily until I achieved the ‘butter’ consistency I wanted. Be sure it doesn’t get rancid or contaminated, infested!

The ninja makes a vacuum seal. I added a little olive oil to mine...let it drain into a cup...clean up was amazingly easy.
