Trailer #10! Made it to the 40s!

This was a very challenging trailer for me to make, mostly because, with all due respect to L'Atalante and M, this is the best movie I've done so far and perhaps will be one of the best movies I'll end up doing for this whole project. It's a very intimate movie, but quite sweeping and grand at the same time, which makes picking the 'right' moments hard. I knew I wanted to focus on Ma Joad because, as good as Henry Fonda is, Jane Darwell gives, I think, one of the great screen performances.

I posted the clip on my instagram, but there's that scene where Ma Joad is holding up her earrings where she displays such an incredible range of emotion in such a short time. It's more than just the emotional display, it's the story and idea she gets across. The idea of what was and what will never be again. It's incredible. That 10 seconds is everything.

Anyways, I'm not quite sure if I got it here. I'm basically happy with how this turned out, but I'm not 100% on if I captured the essence of the movie. I might end up going down different path with this one when I've got some extra time.
...I do kinda want to make a music video version for Rage Against the Machine's cover of The Ghost of Tom Joad.

There’s oddly such a comforting quality to Henry Fonda’s voice

They made better movies back then than they make now.

Found this book in a wall of my house. Now I have to figure out if it was my parents or the previous owners from nearly 70 years ago.

High school kids should be required to watch this movie once every year in order to graduate.

well, we all came out here and now....we're goin' back. My Irish great-grandma came here in 1867 after Lincoln was assassinated because she couldn't work as a maid anymore in New York....too many ex-slaves who would work for almost nothing, so she caught a sailing ship to San Francisco, to go around the Horn....and now we're getting chased around again....

Anyone who lived through the farm economy of the 80s can relate to this.
