I just finished this slog. Lol. I was in Mount Hyjal, in Deepholm, to no avail. Bound and determined to waste my time, I was just using the portals behind the Dwarven District as Ally. I started finding them in Arathi Basin, but kept wandering west. Finally, I found a lot in Tirisfal Glades in the Western mountains. And, per some post on Wowhead, I killed the battle pet rats so other regular rats would spawn. Sorry, but in all my haste I didn't get coordinates, but rest assured you will find them North to South in those mountains.
