Derailed in Jasper Alabama and trapped the crew in for a while but they survived. They must have washed the mud off of it before loading it cuz it had mud everywhere

I could be completely wrong… But I would imagine they separate the locomotive from its bogies to deal with height concerns. Normally it would be on the rails, but now you’re raising it about 4 feet higher onto that flatbed. It wouldn’t be very good if they hit a bridge or an overpass or something. Then the rail company would really have some explaining to do to the insurance company lol.

Insurance ain't going to care, the deductable is just north of the cost of a new unit. That's why units sit around for so long before repair-or-replace. And do we replace with hundreds of mothballed units on the roster.

Off to Altoona for a rebuild. If it gets wrecked while on your railroad you fix it. This side didn't look that bad, but well the other sides trashed.
