There is something very peculiar about the way Jesus perform his rituals. That is, he just does them. He has no complicated ritual, nor deep throated chanting. He doesn't dance a special dance, or combine special substances. He doesn't read the entrails of animals, nor even appeal to deities for assistance. He just does it.
This is immensely odd, and out of place, as anyone who has studied religious ceremony of the time (or even much later) can attest.
Priests and shamans were very much naked without their charms and chants, their dancing and their holy relics. I've studied the Roman religions, the Sumerian priesthood, and numerous other primitive faith cultures.
Jesus is utterly out of place and time, in the way he goes about his business.
If the bible is a made up story, it is brazen piece of literature indeed. It throws away every possible literary and cultural convention, and pays no heed at all to accepted ways of convincing a crowd of supernatural powers.
To then be so successful, as advocacy, rather boggles the mind.Yet the gospel spread, and was accepted.
To put this in context, not a single shaman of that time could have grasped the divinity of Jesus, from his conduct, dress and bearing.
Try selling a story in the global market, when not a single journalist or author writes as you do. In culture, everything is based upon what came before, and fashion cycles through known stages of remembrance.
Not the gospel. it just arrives, and we are asked to take it or leave it, raw and naked. A very remarkable and surely unique event, from any perspective.
