KM9G is back with KD9LFZ to put that 20m dipole antenna to the test in a backyard activiation.

Where possible, all links are affiliate links, this youtube thing is an expensive endeavor and every little bit helps.

I had almost as much fun watching y'all as the girls did. Love the intro graphics and music.

Good job getting girls and the younger generation into ham radio. Wish I got started years ago and got my daughter into tech stuff.

Cool video!
Watching this reminded me of Stranger Things in one of the earlyer seasons when they set up this whole ham radio experiment rig and transmit from the base station in the AV club.

I didn't know anyone still used lead acid batteries. Check out Lifepo4 batteries! More power power for the size and much lighter.

I think the younger ham might have been correct on the heught above ground for a dipole. Pretty sure it's half not quarter. Just who's mentoring who here?

Nice set up. now get a 160 meter dipole up 1/4 wave high. I can see running that battery down and going to the truck battery and running that down and needing AAA for a jump. car battery works just fine. just heavy ! today I use LiFePO4 . run days camping ! POTA will be fun ! looks like same power cord as ICOM 7300. just watch + and - . watch out for some parks do not want us to throw a rope or wire into a tree. just use a DX commander pole and lean into a tree . 73's

Great vids, Steve. Much more entertaining than most ham videos out there. 73, W9LRQ (since my YT name doesn't tell you who I am).

Killer video! there was a time when my teenage daughters (one Extra and one Tech) enjoyed ham radio. Now they are "too cool" for it.... sigh.... At least they are licensed!

.... Aaand lysseneeeng - haha
You forgot the morse key as well ... Write a list for your next POTA or be prepared to make an antenna form cattle wire or power cables from soldering tin..
