In her second appearance back from injury, Alabama softball ace Montana Fouts retired all eight batters in relief to close out a 2-1 win in Game 2 of 2023 super regionals against Northwestern.

A few years ago Fouts was the player who developed my interest in NCAA softball. She was dominant and often had little run support. However this performance, given her injury, really tells about her character...TEAM FIRST! Great young woman.

What about Torrence? Fouts wouldn't be in this position if Torrence wasn't able to get out of jams and keep NW scoreless up until the 5th inning. Please don't take this the wrong way but I think Torrence was the one who really kept their season alive.
