The Robbers to go (Schiller in 10 minutes, English version)

Dos and especially don'ts of youth rebellion - or is it social rebellion? Friedrich Schiller was an expert when it came to defying authority at high personal risk - his legendary first shot THE ROBBERS is one of the top ten German classics, summed up and presented to you by Michael Sommer and his Playmobil company. DISCLAIMER: WATCHING THIS VIDEO DOES NOT REPLACE READING THE PLAY. My recommendation: Read it yourself, watch it in the theatre, or, preferably, stage it!

I'm studying Schiller at university and this is a really helpful summary of the play. Thanks!

Why did I spend a day reading The Robbers when I could have watched this in ten minutes? Thanks!

Excellent video. Brilliant use of props and characters. However, as to the story: Is it really so full of plot-forced action? I know that we see unreasonable reaction for the purpose of driving the plot in today's Marvel movies (for example), but how can a work become a classic and survive if the actions don't puzzle together with any predictability? Did people in the past not know that humans are capable of lies and just being wrong sometimes, so that it's worth verifying big news before acting on it?
