When Ben said "they" I don't think he meant the WB executives. I think he meant "they" being the dual roles of director and actor. Those most likely being very demanding jobs on such a large film.

Just let this DCU die, I was excited for Ben Affleck's Batman, but with all this warner brothers inside crap, I just don't want to see it anymore, just reboot the whole thing.

Guys it's not a big deal. You don't want a director for a big anticipated film under so much stress as director, screenwriter, producer and acting himself in it all at once. Ben made a smart move. The script and story will still be his, most of the creative decisions will still come from him

So he will co-direct the movie so to speak, he will be heavily involved in the creative process, I'm ok with that.

WB is in such a mess right now. This was the film I felt like was a guaranteed win, but even that is starting to fall through. I can't help but suspect that WB was the culprit here, pressuring Affleck to work on it faster. It was bad enough that they kicked out two directors for the Flash, but now this movie too?

It's very hard to keep faith in the DCEU when the films they're delivering aren't up to scratch and they consistently have production issues. i keep hoping next time they'll get it right and they haven't yet. I would much rather they delayed this film and made sure it was made the way it should be than rushed to find a new director mid production.

dceu has been hurt time and time again, all three moives suck, the flash needs a director, now been Ben has been have some fights with Warner Bros... maybe it's time to hit the restart button
