I am studying BA Theology with Philosophy on the University of London International Programme. I have completed 50% of it and am thoroughly enjoying it. The reading lists are extensive and you get to read great Philosophical debates including Descartes rationality of doubt and Schopenhauer. I have completed New Testament Studies, Christian Doctrine, Old Testament, Islam and the Reformation. I am now doing Atheism, Budhism, Liturgical Studies and Modern Philosophers.

UOL is a federal and a collegiate university. From 1836 until 2008, all colleges within University of London, gave only UOL degrees. After 2008, colleges were permitted to award its own degree with its own name. However, this has not changed the perception of a UOL degree.

Colleges within the UOL awards its own degree now because in order to get a higher ranking, one needs to be a independent degree issuing university. LSE/UCL has risen in ranks only because of this. It is all a business of rankings by media publishing houses.

By the way in UK, Oxford and Cambridge universities never issued a degree to women since its founding until 1920's. UOL was the first university to introduce examinations, teaching, degree to women and appointment of women to their faculty.

nO ONE GETS A DEGREE SAYING UIVERSITY OF LONDON INTERNATONAL. RATHER IT STATES "UNIVERSITY OF LONDON" but in the citation it states the lead college.

Actually the degree doesn’t differentiate between international and local. The graduation also takes place at the University of London itself

What does the final transcript look like for the BSc degree...? For example does it say so-and-so got their degree from 'University of London' or from 'University of London is there any mention on the transcript of the Lead College or the fact that it is an online degree?

However things are not what is expected from UOL, come 2024,
Help Uni Malaysia will discontinue its collaboration with UOL thus leaving an overall amount of students tie-up in their studies in a lurch and quandary, leaving many students with teary eyes,
Many have come to believe the time frame is just too tight, for those doing not so well they may resit for the test again beside taking their current test

This news came about just like being struck by lightning yesterday dated 3 Aug 2022,

Both U's offer no alternative or to seek placement with another venue for their students to continue their studies, can we imagine that a 186-year-old institute and take off just like that, compared to HKU-UOL, LSE program was the envy, the later sent coaches to coach its students on their final exams, what did UOL did for this 2 faced approach,
Why are they doing that BUT leaving their HELP UNI students on the cliff end ???

So for prospective students, please think twice or even more as reputation plays and pay nothing OR you may end up as the Malaysian peers

Anyone pursuing UoL from Canada? I'm concerned about examination centre availability in smaller metropolitans like Lethbridge or Calgary. I wouldn't wanna travel to Toronto or Vancouver or Ottawa to appear in exams. University doesn't seem to promise on that (I guess)... Would like some thoughts please. Anything that could possibly help. Thank you

It highly depends on with which university you register, for example a degree from LSE is much more prestigious than SOAS etc
