I had a girlfriend from Samarai schooling at John Wesley high school, way back in the 1970. Name Judith Elekana. I like the melodious sound and song. I am from New Ireland. ❤

Another Manus here. Listening to this song makes me wanna cry... we cross the sea from our humble village to town and back just to do shopping. Such life is real for Islander! ❤

From Manus, but there is something special about this song... listening and watching the clip and I am reflecting the isolated islands way of life, the struggles to and fro just to come to provincial centres just to do some simple shopping and wait for a transport to return back home.. maybe it can take 1 week or 2.

The song is about a guy who was raised by a single mother. He left his village to travel afar, and while he was away, his mother passed away. When he returned, he found his mother's house empty. Standing on the road leading to the house, he reminisced about who would call him now that he is an orphan. 😢

My primary school teachers were from Samarai and Trobs in the 1980s at Hoyabia Community School, Tari, Hela province. They played these songs in their homes we would listened to them. I feel for them now.

Very meaningful lyrics, about thinking back home and reflecting what my mum is doing back home and feeling sad at the same time, why did i leave home and came this far. My thoughts are only of home and how homesick i am
