I have two that I’ve had for at least ten years and they are getting huge and have created several daughter bulbs. They are just breaking dormancy now. I prefer them to bloom in February or March so I don’t bring them inside from the garden until frost is predicted.

I started 4 bulbs that are on the 3 rd year for me. All are good, one is about 3-4 weeks behind the others tho. Did same thing last year. Not sure why but will have blooms l longer so win win. They Sumer outside and on my porch zone 5 Indiana

Hope you feel better Danielle, that's so disappointing for you as a grower and collector of amaryllis bulbs to have to discard something from your collection. On a positive note, you have grown spectacular amaryllis flowers to share with us, and we appreciate your tutorials on the subject as well.

Danielle - why discard ? Why not cut them up for propagation ?

I have a couple of large bulbs that are growing leaves but no blooms. Very disappointing. One of the smaller bulbs is about to bloom.

Was told that flower stems were to come first Then leaves but mine don’t an I seam to have a lot of leaves an have to tie them up I get blooms but am I doing this wrong? An how do I change what I’m doing

I had a bulb of double king bring 2 flower stalks, just to dry up completely without coming out all the way. Made me so sad. Any idea why this would happen? The bulb looked overall healthy.
