Something- The Beatles (Guitar Cover)

A note for note cover of George Harrison's masterpiece off of Abbey Road (1969). John Lennon played piano on this song, so both rhythm and lead guitars were played by George

He played his 1968 Rosewood Telecaster through a Leslie speaker for the rhythm part and his 1957 Lucy Les Paul into a Twin Reverb for the lead.

Other than my guitar parts, you’ll hear the isolated vocals and drums from the album. Got these from rock band stems

For the lead part I'm playing my Les Paul into my Fender Pro Reverb with a Strymon Deco to simulate the tape double-tracking effect heard on the record. For the rhythm I'm using my Telecaster into 2 amps so I could record the leslie pedal in stereo

Gear Used:
2007 Fender Vintage Hot Rod '52 Telecaster (w/CS '51 Nocaster Pickups)
2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard (Low Wind OX4 PAF Pickups)

1974 Fender Silverface Pro Reverb with Weber 12F150 Speakers
Marcara Custom Built 5E5-A Tweed Pro (Weber 15" 15A150)
Strymon Deco
Strymon Lex

Mic’d with a Neumann TLM-103 and an AKG 414

Thanks for listening!

First time I heard this is burned into my brain. In college. Got in my car to go somewhere and turned on the radio. The solo played here at 1:43 was exactly where the song was when I started listening. Immediately I said, "I've never heard THIS before, but it's got to be a new Beatles song!" No other group ever sounded like that, before or since. Your cover is great. Thank you for taking me back in time for a few moments. When you get older, you'll understand how important that can be.

Perfect chord voicing with the capo on third, tele sounds spot on, wonder if George played rhythm as well as lead on the Abbey road session.ie on his Rosewood Telecaster. Les Paul was perfection.nice feel to the solo, well done.

Finally someone who gets it right ! George wrote this starting the verse on A chord and put the capo on third fret for the recording to reach C

also recently found out that george used a capo on the rhythm for the track through isolated audios, such a surprise after playing it on open chords for years. it shows the skill, as well as the love and care george had for the songs he wrote!

this cover is amazing, will probably learn the lead guitar through your video haha
