Programming of Ademco 10se with standard keypad for ADT.

This videos a culmination of days of internet research. These are step by step directions on how I programmed my Ademco Vista 10SE alarm with on the numeric keypad. There was a lot of incompatible or simply wrong information that I was able to parse and include for you here.

This article assumes you know how to get into programming mode by hitting: 4-1-1-1-8-0-0. The other way to go into programming mode is to unplug the battery and then unplug the power from the wall wait 5 sec then plug back in and hit the *+# buttons simultaneously in under 50 seconds of powering alarm back up. Next type #20 so see what your actual 4 digit programming code actually is.

I know this is an old video but I spent two hours in the manual and could not figure out how to get out of zone programming mode. Hi, My daughter bought a house with a system looking like this from 1997. Do you know how she can input a new code so she can use it? The person she bought the house from does not know the current code because it was a rental property.

Hi Mike I liked your video. I have the Ademco Via 16 panel and keypad. When I come into the house to shut off the alarm after my code I have to press #1. That is my HOME button. When I exit the home I enter my code and the #2, that is is the AWAY button. My question is the #1 button is wearing out from usage, do you know a way to change the enter button from #1 to a different one?

Hey Mike, great video, thanks. I moved into a house with this system. It has a user code I can’t get rid of, even though I was able to get a new installer code in by resetting it. Any advice or help? Really frustrated....

Programming a Vista 10SE is a bit different than the newer Vista 15p and 20p. I have both a Vista 10SE and a Vista 20PSIA and there are some differences in the programming

Mike - I've got the same system... we don't pay for a service, but it used to 'ding' when a door was open or closed... now it doesn't do that. Is there a way to turn this back on? I can't seem to find anything in the manual. Thanks

That panel does not sound good at all than the ones I’ve seen. Was that power supply issue or just the piezo is crazy old
