I asked not to be contacted today because my husband is having chemotherapy and I need to look after my child (I'm also pregnant so this is a stressful time for me) and in the middle of this video I have had two calls from work. I just have to correct you in one aspect of the video - it’s wrong to talk about someone’s “genetic code” - well, maybe not technically wrong, but everyone has the same genetic code. Genetic code is a way triplets of nucleotides are translated into aminoacids in a process called translation, and it works the same way in all of the eukaryotes. Correct terminology would be “their genome”, “their genetic material” or just “their DNA”.

6:10: I expected that point to be something about how obedience is rewarded with the necessities of life (or money, which can be exchanged for such), and disobedience punished by denying people the necessities of life, which makes their misery seem less like a direct result of some sovereign punishing them and more like a result of their own action. Care must be taken to understand that societies of control, like societies of discipline, do not require "people" for its reproduction. you touched upon the whole 'govts use data' point - it is irrelevant whether the govt collects data or not. Our behaviour would nonetheless be modulated and we would then desire it ourselves so that even if the state was removed the exact apparatus would be reproduced.
That is what happens when you control life rather than death. You have essentially ensured the perpetuation of these apparatuses irrespective of who *personally* occupies them.
