I feel you 100%. This book was a roller coaster ride, and I loved every twist and turn and lull. Smith is a phenomenal writer. I love the webs she weaves in this book, her FIRST freakin' book! I am definitely a fan.
I haven't read NW, but I did read and enjoy the hell out of Autograph Man and On Beauty.

I knew you'd like it. NW is a very experimental styles of writing so not for everybody. I loved it except the ending. White Teeth is definitely her masterpeiece. Hope to get to Swing Time next month. You look great in this video!

I'm glad you liked this one! I had a similar experience with her. I started off with The Autograph Man, I could tell she was a great writer but wasn't completely enamored with the book, then I read "Swing Time" and it. I'm going to read On Beauty soon.

I'm currently reading the book, 1/3rd in, and I'm still not sure why the book is called White Teeth. I still don't get the metaphor and because of that, I feel like I'm missing a lot of nuanced meanings. Anyone?
