I had a BK Butler RTD, in the mud 80s.
I finally got to order one two years ago, from BK’s Reverb Shop.
Worth every penny.
Thick ala FAT, or utterly buzzsaw, on any pickup. 👍

On these settings the mullard makes little to no difference compared to a modern equivalent. Run on the edge of clean and dorty a d that tube will reveal its charm. 😊

I’ve been interested in trying a tube-based overdrive/preamp pedal sometime. Can you notice anything that stands out to differentiate its characteristics compared to a transistor-based overdrive pedal (besides the power consumption and co$t)?
