Yes the EU faces a budget crisis, not so much because of Brexit but because of Covid. The UK faces a much bigger crisis so please no "Schadenfreude". Let's not talk about fish. We - in the EU will protect our fishermen so fishing rights are a must in a much bigger set of requirements which must ALL be met by the UK for a deal to be signed.

How does the EU think that their European Fishing Bill should have a legal say over British territorial waters. And we won’t go down the road about negotiators saying we are entitled to a Canada +++ deal and then “ No you’re not”.

A little explanation about Hungary Poland: Included in the budget makes the EU a dictator over their nations and neither one want another dictator. It has nothing to do with the money. It has to do with not needed unanimous tie-in from everyone in the future. Also, not passing the 7 year budget doesn't mean it doesn't have a budget. It simply means they follow the one passed last time which goes out another 6 years. The issue is there is COVID stuff in the new one but if it doesn't pass, it is the EU's fault because they could easily drop out the offensive policies they've added.
