For anyone who didn't get their problem resolved this way:
I followed the same steps, however, instead of checking the 'power saving' option I had to activate the 'high performance' mode to have the black screen disappear.

i haven't commented on a youtube video in years but just wanted to say thanks! i've been trying to look for a solution for over a month. i've been trying to run slobs as administrator while using dedicated graphics so my laptop can encode better but i can only ever seem to do one or the other, never both which has been so frustrating. it doesn't help that editing it in the nvidia control panel is absolutely useless as well. since im using game capture though, instead of power saving, i've put it on high performance and now it works fine. there are a couple others on reddit having the same problems so i'll go ahead and link them to your video. cheers!
