Sailing across Lake Ontario - Ep 1

This is part 1 of a 423 NM sail across Lake Ontario from Hamilton to Heart Island in the St Lawrence. Arriving at Boldt Castle after 2 days non stop sailing on a 27' Mirage.

We also sail out of the Great Lakes: Beaver Island in northern Lake Michigan. Can't wait to watch the rest, great video. Will show the wife when she gets home and watch the rest.

Very nice sail.  The only thing that has prevented that same gennaker embarrassment on my boat is that each end of the sail is clearly labelled: CLEW, TACK and HEAD.   :-)   I don't use it enough to just look at it and know which is which!   Looking forward to the return trip across that beautiful lake (which is really an inland sea by the look of it).

What happens if you miss the rope after jumping in do you drown in the middle of the lake.

Amazing! One question though: Do you have to get a license to sail? And if so, how?
