The first time I watched Miracle on Ice I knew the Soviet Hockey Style was the most interesting I had ever seen or ever will. I see shades of that tenacity and style in the NHL's newest franchise. The Golden Knights made NHL history and sports history by being the most successful expansion team in history. This is how they implemented that Red Army style.

Interesting, I wonder if that's what they were attempting to create from the start. GMGM seems highly intelligent and as for Gallant, sometimes he's very progressive (6 forwards with goalie pull) but sometimes he's not (dressing a bum Reaves to play 5:55 in game 7). Would have liked to seen him play Gusev for Reaves or even Carrier (6:01). I understand not bringing him in right away but game 7 especially when the other two guys didn't get ice time anyways.

I think their success has a lot to do with the expansion rules and how teams were giving out picks and players like candy. The Canucks played it well, leaving sbisa exposed and not taking the bait, other teams got fleeced.
