When it first came out, I bought 2 copies. One that I played (and loved immensely) and one that is still sitting unopened on my shelf to this day. Still waiting on my 5 figure deal to sell it.

I remember playing multiplayer and getting into a Seeker match with someone. For those that do not know, a Seeker starts out as a relatively slow moving ball of green energy that does massive damage if it hits. It locks on to the target and will follow them. There were two ways to break the lock-on. One, to use a reflect weave. If the seeker hits you, it bounces back, now locked on to the one who channeled it. And to make it interesting, it gains speed upon being reflected. The other way to break the lock-on is to Shift out of the way. If successful, it would simply continue along its last trajectory until it explodes harmlessly against a surface.

Getting into a seeker match is like a round of tennis from Hell. You're basically facing across from each other, bouncing this thing bac and forth with it getting faster and faster. One of you is going to run out of reflects and will either get blown apart, or will shift away. But you don't dare just fire off a seeker and not make sure it hits or is evaded. You could find yourself on the receiving end of your own seeker that has been following you.

Personally, I wished they would have gone a little deeper with their Weaves mechanic. Rather than just making it where picking up ter'angreal gave a use of the weave. But I do understand that they were aiming for a more shooter-style game where anyone could jump in regardless of the roll they played, The books established that some Ter'Angreal used the One Power, not requiring the wielder to actually be able to channel.

The original plan for the game was to have four stories to play through, where each of the four character options had their own point of view. But as with many games that start off with big plans, things had to get scaled back. So Elaina Sedai, Keeper of the Chronicles, was the character chosen to be the focus of the single-player experience. There was the secondary plan to release the other three stories as expansions, but that didn't happen.

The graphics will look highly dated by today's standards, but at the time, they were awesome.

I'm glad it's been re-released. But what I really wish someone, as in a professional dev team were to be authorized to totally redesign the game in Unreal Engine 5 to take advantage of the amazing advancements in worldbuilding and storytelling that are now possible. And whether anyone likes Amazon's WoT show, its existence does introduce WoT to a newer audience, so the best time to do a remake of the game is right now, in my opinion.

Great to hear this. I loved this game. Not only was it from favourite book series, but it was a great game and totally unique with the magic as the weapon, rather than your typical gun first person shooter.

I got the game from my grandparents that christmas, I was so happy but I really did not have a computer that could run it for a while after that. My mom brought home a laptop from work that could run the game, barely, but not the cutscene videos. Been playing it a bit now after I heard Matt from The Dusty Wheel mentioning it at the end of his LoC stream. Had to fiddle with some settings to make it work correctly but is fine now. Brings me back! :-)

I LOVED the game. The atmosphere of Shadar Logoth and the Ways I remember the most. And the P2P was awesome

I bought the game at CompUSA when it came out. It was a fun and unexpected addition to the series, which I was then reading for the first time. I played it and Unreal Tournament more or less concurrently, with the latter making me a lot better at the former.

I wasn't born when this game came out, but as I got into WoT a few years ago I downloaded a fan restoration and played it a bunch, absolutely love it! Shadar Logoth especially is so wondefully creepy to explore. Glad to see this is being brought into a mainstream platform.

I played the game back when it came out. I enjoyed it, had some pretty good sound effects and looked okay. I don't remember if I completed it though

I honestly didn’t know about the game, which is a surprise seeing as I was a gamer and WoT fan at the time. I’ll need to give it a play through I think

I remember this game back in the day, although I've never played it. Super curious to see it in action and I hope the speed running community get their teeth into it!

I remember my father coming home with this game one night after work. He knew I was into the books, saw it, and picked it up for me. I didn't even know it existed! Loved seeing, hearing and experiencing the world of the Wheel of Time off the pages. It wasn't a perfect game but it was fun and I played through it a few times. I still remember the button that allowed your character to say something, the angry "Burn you!"

I remember when it came out and bought a copy and played it quite a bit. My favorite thing to do was picking up a fade with a mini-tornado and dropping him into spike pits - soo satisfying! I'm kind of disappointed by the ad art for this release because I remember being impressed that this was one of the few games of its time that featured a main character that was female who was not over-sexualized.
