Survival is key!! We don't start school until the 23rd. I've been in preschool and Pre-K 3 years ago. This year I'm back teaching 2 Day Preschool and 3 day Pre-K. I'm super excited. Watching your videos has helped me remember all things about littles. I'm so glad you were able to have a great first day!!

I love the "We survived". That is a true story right there. I go back to work tomorrow with the littles starting soon. Super excited. I smiled so big when you talked about one of your littles reading the smart board. That happened to me last year I have a detailed schedule up on the board for the adults that come in the room. One of my littles would read that daily. The first time she was like we are doing this and that. I asked her how she knew that and she said I read it of course. So precious I love it!! I hope you have an amazing school year, adore your videos!

It was so helpful even for me as a parent! My child is so high energy, I just hope she does well in the classroom 😂 She follows directions well and we always talk about what sounds right vs wrong etc etc but I know she’ll be sooo excited and distracted with the new environment, new friends, new toys! Thank you for this! My first day of preschool will be August 29. I've been teaching special education K-2 for 17 years. I'm so excited, but I'm also nervous about doing this well. I have been watching your videos all summer to prepare!!!

We start after Labor Day. Thank you for this video. It’s a good reminder for me. I am a planner through and through, but good advice to breathe and let things flow how they need to that first day. Summer brain always makes me forget how rough those first few days can be. Good luck this week!

Great video! I teach older students (2nd grade), but I have a funny little trick I use to teach walking in a line. On the first day of school I have them walk down the halls in their line while I do everything I can to distract them: make funny faces, shake a rattle, squeak a rubber chicken, blow bubbles, etc. If they can make it to assembly without breaking, then they “win.” Throughout the year I tell them, “Hey, you could walk down the halls while ignoring your teacher acting a fool on the first day of school, you can definitely walk to recess without getting distracted today.” Works every time!

I am so excited for my 4yr old son haha Its his first day tomorrow at pre k. He said he is excited and a bit nervous lol. I hope he does good because it's his first time and he never been in a day care. Thank you Ma'am for this video.

I’m giggling so much and love that you posted your survival tips! I plan to teach my kiddos to open the supply box without getting anything out, lol. I cracked up about your “door holder” job! This was such a great video!!

Yup we did allot of play, learning to line up, where our picture schedule is and how to use it! The first couple days are always the most draining. I’m excited for the kids to start getting the routines and start teaching content instead of just acclimating them. I love your outlook on the first day that it is just survival and I’m glad other educators feel the same as me.
