Why the world is watching Imran Khan.

Imran Khan was sworn in as Pakistan’s new prime minister on August 18, but he is no ordinary politician. Before rising to power, he was a dashing cricket superstar. He lead the Pakistani cricket team to victory in the 1992 World Cup against England and became a global celebrity. He settled in England, where his popularity grew and where he was known as a bachelor.

He eventually resettled in Pakistan, where he shed his lady’s-man image and established the political career that lead him to become the head of Pakistan’s government. His strong anti-corruption message and opposition to the political dynasties that have ruled Pakistan for decades helped him ascend to power. But many have accused him of also getting help from Pakistan’s most powerful authority: the military. As Khan starts his tenure, we explore his rise to power and how Pakistan’s political climate might affect his term as prime minister.

US in 2018: Criticising Imran for suggesting peace talks with Taliban.
US in 2021:Maybe that wasn't a bad idea.

3:45
Imran Khan was talking about Afghanistan's resistance against USA's occupation. He was not talking about people who shot Malala

I hope Vox would do better journalism than this...

4:23 Imran Khan predicted the USA won't be able to resolve issues in Afghanistan without holding talks with Talibans. Now the World has seen the USA is in talks with Talibans. Every word of Khan is coming true.

You forgot to mention that American drone strikes at that time killed hundreds and yes it led anti American sentiment and terrorism. Those strikes no longer happen.
Also the military of Pakistan has been fighting terrorism and taliban that is why America pays them. They have lost more troops to taliban than all of nato.
Idk if you trying to mislead and show bais or just not enough research.

Pakistan was like “the US got a professional wrestler as their president, We want a cricket player”

To be fair Americans have already tried war with the Taliban for 17 years now without peace talks that could have solved a lot of problems instead shedding blood. The man is right about the peace talks 🤷‍♂️

4:37 when Imran Khan spoke about Afghanistan and how their was no military solution to Afghanistan, the whole world blamed him, they called him a terrorist but now fast forward to 2021 America is leaving Afghanistan after their military solution has failed, Imran Khan still to this date is true to his words and has never changed from his claims he told everyone that their was only political solution in Afghanistan and that's is exactly how it's happening now.
and now us is holding peace talks with Taliban.

Let me state a few more key points VOX missed

1 : Nawaz Sahrif was guilty of corruption over solid proof of owning luxury apartments in London using money he stole, his name also appeared in Panama Papers

2 : The Pakistan military is not Pro Taliban ....atleast not in the sense its portrayed, Pakistan military itself fought with Taliban near Pak Afghan border areas killing over 35000 militants and is now fencing the border shut. Pakistan is accused of having links with Haqqani network, which is actually a very small faction made of a few thousand.

3 : Pakistan has always supported peace talks in Afghanistan, not just now and really that is the only way to solve that never ending war

4 : Imran khan won by popular vote, not military support

I am extremely disappointed in the lack of research, and blatant biases in this video.

For the first time in decades pakistan finally got a PM who is incorruptible, you would think the west would appreciate this fact rather than try to make him sound like he might be next villain. Well with the west losing global importance nobody really cares anymore, Pakistan is focused on itself not what the west prefers.
