Fact number 10. The Gambia is the smallest country in Mainland #Africa.
The Gambia is located beside the River Gambia, and is situated on Africa’s west coast, surrounded by Senegal. It’s incredibly narrow, measuring less than 30 miles wide at its widest! Because of how small the landmass is, the country is one of the most densely populated country in the continent, with over 245 people per square kilometer.

Fact number 9. The Gambia is the only country in the world that votes using marbles.
The Gambia uses a unique system of voting called the marble system. In this system, voters are given a marble for each candidate they want to vote for. They then place their marbles in a drum, and the drum is shaken. The marbles are then counted, and the candidate with the most marbles wins the election. The marble system was first used in The Gambia in 1965, when the country gained its independence from the United Kingdom. The system was chosen because it was seen as a way to make voting more accessible to people in rural areas, who may not have been able to read or write. The marble system has been used in every election in The Gambia since 1965. It has been praised for its simplicity and efficiency, and it has been credited with helping to ensure that elections are fair and transparent.

Fact number 8. There is a sacred crocodile pool in Bakau that is believed to have healing powers.
The sacred crocodile pool in the Gambia is a popular tourist attraction and a place of pilgrimage for many people. The pool is located in the town of Kachikally, about 10 miles from the capital city of Banjul. The pool is believed to have healing powers, and people come to bathe in its waters to cure a variety of ailments. The crocodiles are fed by the people, and they are not harmed. The sacred crocodile pool is a unique and fascinating place. It is a reminder of the rich culture and history of the Gambia.

A friend of a friend went to The Gambia over 30 years ago. He went out at night alone. He was found the next day tied to a tree in just his unerpants. Everything else had been stolen, although he wasn't hurt.

Gambia is rough. Was there just under a year ago. Was bored and covered in dust. The food was awful, the roads worse and the taxis were held together with sellotape.

The people were nice, though.
