Who am I? What am I? What’s inside?
That’s causing this Malfunction

Mislabeled, unable, To repair this Mal-
Functioning just fine, I’m alive
At this junction of dysfunction, We arrive

What’s your Malfunction?
Don’t be scare, It don’t matter how you wear your hair
What’s your Malfunction?
Find its mirth, perfect’s a bore for what it’s worth

Gold, silver, copper, bronze
The dullest metal can still be strong

Well we might have our share of ticks
But honey that’s how we get our kicks

Mah-ah-ah-ah-ahl function away
Mah-ah-ah-ah-ahl function away
Malfunction! Malfunction! Malfunction!

My function’s desire
Climb higher than a spider on the wire
You function in mirth
But that sector might need rebirth

I’m about to pick you up
get you back up on your feet
you don’t need to worry love
Even if we’re incomplete

Come on baby open up
Pull out the wires and trim the fluff
Be yourself sounds so cliche
But hey let's do it anyway

We’re functioning just fine, we’re alive
At this junction of dysfunction we are arrive

What’s your Malfunction?
Don’t be scare, It don’t matter how you wear your hair
What’s your Malfunction?
Bring it forth perfect’s a bore for what it’s worth

Curvy, skinny, or bizarre
The best shape is who you are

Raise your hand if you’re not from a mold (yeah me)
Varied strings are worth more than gold

Mah-ah-ah-ah-ahl function away
Mah-ah-ah-ah-ahl function away
Malfunction! Malfunction! Malfunction!

Feel the fires as they tickle your face
Watch and learn as they make you feel disgrace
Ones and zeroes left over, left out to haunt
Comb them in and let them want

I want more from this stupid life
Do you want more from this stupid life? (oh yeah)
Ones and zeroes, ones and zeroes, ones and zeroes
Add them up, take them up, show them

I’m functioning just fine I’m alive
At my junction of dysfunction we arrive

What’s their Malfunction?
It’s a start; Can we teach them not to fall apart?
Their Malfunction isn’t us, it’s all the clamor and the fuss

When I say that I love you, dammit Janet, take it as truth
Everything’s a little broken
To be pristine well you must be jokin’

Mah-ah-ah-ah-ahl-function away
Mah-ah-ah-ah-ahl-function away

God, this band has to have one of the kindest, sweetest communities on the Internet. It's honestly jarring to come from all the hate and negativity to this little bundle of kindness, where everyone is proud of their little quirks, and open and accepting to everyone who's also not normal. I guess a weird band gets weird fans, in the best way possible <3

It's been about 7 years since I've been in a constant fight with depression. Last year my boyfriend sent me this video, and I couldn't even face it without crying my eyes out, hyperventilating and hating myself to the point of wanting to suicide, because I couldn't accept that anyone would accept *me* even though I was broken.
Now, this song has been my everyday strengh, I still cry but now it's happiness.
Thank you so much for helping go by another day.

This song is one of the biggest reasons I love SPG. They never just make music for the money or the fame. You can easily tell how much emotion and experience is behind each and every song. I freaking love this band.

Sure did just cry a little in my living room over the singing robot band. I'm glad I decided to click on this. I may be late to the party, but I really, _really_ needed to hear this song.

This video is so good but all I can think about is bunny violently gripping her phone so it doesn't fall in the water/tub

To hell with all the haters and people stirring up trouble over the submissions for this video. This is amazing work and really, shows that WE ALL have a malfunction of some sort. We're all wired wrong.

That's what makes us human (or robot).

5 years late to listening to this, but I literally just broke down crying because of this. They were happy tears though. seeing so many people like me, messed up in some way or another made me feel less lonely and I just
I'm trans, I'm neurodivergent, and I'm not alone.
thanks SPG. yall are amazing.

This song was posted 7 years ago, and is still worth coming back to on a rough day. It's kinda comforting to know that we all malfunction at some point. A beautiful song by beautiful people. Thanks SPG!

I know I'm late. I know I'm late by nearly two years to this song. But I heard Brass Goggles a while ago and I wanted to listen to it again, and a few weeks of getting into this band, and getting more invested and interested... I found this. And... I don't cry at music. I just don't. Music can certainly hit me in the chest, but I'm not moved to tears.

And then there was this song. I watched it through, and... god. I'm shaking. And not in a bad way.

This song made me cry. And I feel so hopeful. I'm trans, a trans guy, and I'm still closeted at school and my family (especially my father) is still tentatively understanding. Seeing so many people who are from the same community as me, and I'm just. I don't know how to put into words how I feel. I feel so goddamn happy, but at the same time I feel a certain sense of... I don't know. Blankness. Not emptiness, but just... blank.

This isn't worded the way I want it to be worded. I can't put all the ways I feel into a good paragraph. But god, I know that I can say thank you. Thank you, so much, for this song. Thank you.
