The Swedish referee, Erik Fredriksson, completely saved Argentina from a sure loss (USSR obliterated Argentina two years before in Germany, with almost the same squads) and deserved first round elimination that day. Grotesque handball at 0:59 which should have been awarded a penalty (and at least a yellow card to Maradona), being the referee the best placed spectator, just a couple of meters away with nothing obstructing him from seeing it. A disproportionate punishment at 4:16 which lead to the red card given to the experienced Soviet player, Volodymyr Bessonov. The final touch being the referee's misleading attitude which completely confused everybody in the Soviet side (mainly Oleg Kuznetsov who kicked the ball back in anger) on the second goal given to Argentina at 6:58. This is one of the most disgraceful arbitrations in World's Cup history.

Dos cosas importantes de este partido... uno, es cierto que en 1:03 hay una mano alevosa del Diego y a los que se quejan, les recuerdo que no habia VAR y a los Sovieticos no le convenia que haya, sino terminaban con 4 de las patadas que han pegado sobre todo en el segundo tiempo, es criminal lo que han hecho en este partido y sobre todo con Maradona. Dos, el Goyco ya empezaba a ser figura, clave en este partido y en el resto de la copa que merecia ganar Argentina y que nos robaron en la final contra Alemania.
