The name Jairzinho may be an unfamiliar one to younger fans of the beautiful game. It only makes sense, seeing as his prime was all the way back in 70s

But what if I told you that the man outscored Pelé in Brazil's greatest ever World Cup triumph and replaced the great Garrincha for both club and country?

This requires investigating.

Jairzinho is really underrated, even by brazilians he often times gets forgotten in conversations. This 1970 squad is masterclass, i don't ever get bored of rewatching their games.

Ridiculous to think that because Brazil has so many legends that some legends are just forgotten sad to think

As an amateur football historian, I appreciate any and all videos on classic players like Jairzinho <3

Jairzinho, in addition to being a legend, was the discoverer of Ronaldo Phenomenon.

This man was unstoppable, while garrincha was like a more entertaining form of neymar, Jairzinho was a stronger form of Mbappe

Brazil is absolutely the greatest footballing Nation, the dominance they have showed and the type of legends they produce says it all.
Imagine this, if it wasn't for Zizou Brazil would probably have won 2 more World Cups( 4 in a row)

You REALLY should do a video about Vavá, the most underated player who ever worn Brazil's jersey. He was bronze ball in 58 World Cup, scoring 2 goals in the final match, and was golden ball in 62, scoring one goal in the final. Vava is the only player who ever scored goals in two consecutives World Cup Finals, and is the third all time scorer for Brazil (in World Cups). But he is almost never remembered when people talks about "the great players that ever played a World Cup for Brazil", wich is a BIG injustice.

Wonderful video
It's nice to see Europeans recognizing Brazilians legends from the past

I think that most of the time they don't receive the recognition they deserve outside of Brazil/South America

The 1970 Brazil squad is Pound-for-Pound, the best squad in the history of football. Pure magic! I just watched all 19 goals. That final goal by Carlos Alberto is the most iconic World Cup goal of all time. And for Jairzinho to score in all 6 matches is exceptional! By far the best performance by a single player during any World Cup. Brazil's entire 1970 World Cup run was a divine experience... 🙏🏼

I'm simply loving the attention our players are receiving in this channel! What a great work.

Hey man! I'm a big fan of your channel and being brazillian it's always a pleasure to see you covering our players, specially the not obvious ones like Jairzinho and Ganso. All of the 12 big clubs in Brazil had some INSANE squads from the 30s to the 80s and i'm really proud of our football! One little fun fact about Jairzinho is that his son Jair Ventura managed Botafogo some years ago and took them from relegation spots to a Libertadores spot, in which he led them to a very respectable quarter final defeat to Grêmio, being their second best campaign in this competition in club history.

Yes. And I really don't understand how many people not know him. Its like they are forgotten. I think that's how football goes. It's the sad truth. I have seen some people from younger generation who doesn't even know Kaka.

Jairzinho did after his football career find Ronaldo who till this day is the biggest talent ever. But not only his stats as a young talent outshine eryone but his performances on that age where even more mindblowing. The most allround player ever who sadly was destroyed by major injuries.

Botafogo is the club of my childhood. It should be said that Botafogo has the most player participations in total matches of the Seleção. Thank you for the memories!
