Dr Godbole will give an overview of the current status about participation of women in Science and future prospects. This will be influenced by her experiences as the founding chair of the Indian Academy Panel for Women in Sciences and a series of programs /initiatives which she has participated or initiated over the past few decades. One of them being a book that she co-edited 'Lilavati's Daughters: Women Scientists of India'. The talk will also draw upon experiences gained in drafting the 'Equity and inclusion chapter' in India's Science, Technology and innovation policy, 2020.
