Read the application note on incremental rotary encoder design considerations

This video discusses how either a latch or a linear Hall sensor can be used
for rotary encoding applications. It will walk through important
considerations such as magnet poles, frequency and spacing when designing
such a system.

definitely worth a look at this one, if you want angle sensors.

Hello, thank you very much for this. I have a brushless DC motor whose speed/RPM is controlled with a lever and a 49E. Do you know a cylindrical circular hall effect sensor that has the same connections and electrical data as the 49E? It looks like a potentiometer but is a circular hall effect sensor. If something like that would work, would you even have a part number of it, could you recommend a part? Thank you very much!

Hey I want to know acout accuracy and rough idea of pulse per rotation? I want to use hall sensor for gaming steering wheel application, but dont know how to use it. Can you tell me or refer to any reference for this kind of thing i want to know how logitech g29 and similar wheels achieve acurate shaft position using hall effect sensor? Thank you
