The Titan X going to be perfect for 1440p maxed out settings with AA and Mods galore at 80-120 fps or the next few years. This card with the Acer G-sync IPS 32" 1440p ultra wide curved monitor will be gaming nirvana.

Titan is clearly marketed as a premium product, and since it is the fastest they can ask a lot more for it, and there will be people willing to pay. Can't fault Nvidia for capitalizing the opportunity, but for the vast majority Titan cards make no sense. I wouldn't recommend getting one if 1000$ is a lot of money for you. 390X should be coming in the next quarter or so, and Nvidia will probably respond to that with something similar. 12 GB VRAM is not needed for even 4K at the moment.

but that's like 1% of the gaming market

Don't remember who benched the Titan X on YouTube they got the VRAM up to 6.5Gb on Shadow Of Mordor. What i would like to get clarified before thinking about the Titan X is that will DX12 actually use both GPU's VRAM in SLI, seems no point in upgrading if it is going to happen. Nice video, all the folks with the Titan X in their hands don't seem to have an in depth review.

actually the Titan X *isn't* marketed as a gaming video card, mostly due to it's over abundant amount of RAM which will never get used by a gamer. By the time a gamer needs 12GB of video RAM, this video card will be 4 generations old.
