Many EVs now use the foam filled tires and let me tell you, if the foam delaminates from the tire it makes a wild imbalance and vibration.

The foam doesn’t dampen the total road noise level but certain annoying frequencies. Specifically, a frequency that transmits from the tire hitting bumps. I noticed that immediately after my new Michelin OEM tires came without the foam. But most people probably won’t be able to hear the difference.

when they hit a pot hole in the road, the combination of heavy weight, low ground clearance and low profile tyres does a lot of damage when the rim breaks.

That screw is in a drawer on the factory floor with all the other parts that are left over when the car rolls off the line

you can easily brake off the sensor when mounting if you don't know what you are doing

The reason the TPMS light wasn’t on is because the sensors are blue tooth . This probably happen from someone over tighten the sensor

Same happened with a set of wheels I bought. Metal pinging sound. A four inch nail inside!

Tinging noise? It's just the headers cooling down 😂

The date on tires does not indicate when they’re replaced only made. It’s 24 going into 25 and in the dealership I’m in it’s very common to install 2-3 year old tires.

I had the same thing happened on a range rover a few days ago. The tire pressure light did come on though. But i went to balance the wheel and heard something inside the tire when I went to spin it. No ultra quiet tire though

TPMS, another point of failure you can't rely on to work when it's needed. Check your pressures people, best way to avoid punctures and a perfect moment to take a look for uneven wear.

It happened to me as well a couple of months ago. I thought it was a loose suspension component or possibly a rock stuck between the brakes but nope it was the TPMS

Keep a strong magnet in the shop and run the magnet just over the foam. The screw will be found.

The screw is hanging out with the missing socks.

As long as the battery inside, the TPM is still intact and works properly. There would be no tire pressure monitor light come on on the dash there would be no reason for the light to come on on the dash the sensor simply became unstuck from whatever type of bonding agent or compound that was utilized to adhere the sensor to the wheel. The sensor doesn’t necessarily need to be screwed or bolted on as that will add additional weight and would otherwise throw the wheel off balance of the tire valve stem, which was more than likely directly across from the TPM. Just saying.

All these people blaming Tesla when it seems apparent that the damage found on the rim is from the driver hitting a rock or pothole or something, and that shook the sensor loose.

I have mixed feelings about telsa in general, but I am a little bit impressed that the sensor was still transmitting. Are they actually making the sensors, or are they just branded tesla?

Funfact: That foam inside the tyre is nothing new and made for Tesla or Ev´s. I think Pirelli was first with there PNCS and it was first put on Audi A6/A7 in 2012 or 13.
