The problem with emeralds as currency is that they're renewable. You should demonstrate this point by FLOODING the economy with "Royal Emeralds." Fill up every shop with emeralds. Toss stacks to other hermits. Make them pop up from the ground all over the shopping district. Prove that they are worthless by increasing the supply beyond reason.

For why the creeper did no damage: I remember in the last season Mumbo found out that the game calculates the how much damage you take depends on how exposed your legs are to the blast

Remember the end crystals from last season? Mumbo told you guys that blast damage depends on your feet. This means that when there is a block protecting your feet, a charged creeper doesn’t hurt.

Just exchange your emeralds for the diamonds in Ren's shop. He says they are of equal value, so he shouldn't mind having them instead of diamonds

The block at feet level prevents almost all of the explosion damage because the damage is calculated from the amount of rays from the explosion that hit the bottom of your hitbox (your feet).
