The visual effects are a double edged sword. Some of it definitely held the film back but because of it we were able to get Christopher Lee in these movies with green screen merged with stunt doubles.

0:59 with the dwarf ballistas is the moment I knew that the CGI will not look so computerized and have a whole unnatural glow and video game look to it, sadly you can still see there terribly copy and pasted faces of the elves that all look the same

0:18 Attack of the clones! Who needs to cast a bunch of extra to play elves when you can shoot just one and "copy-paste" as many as you like.

Shame that they messed up and didn't include Peter Hambleton's name in the credits and that there's a weird white circle (artifact?) that appears in the dwarven chariot scene. Hopefully these issues can be addressed in the ultimate 6 film set that comes out later this year.
