Thank you SO MUCH I JUST bought my 11yr old this phone & NOTHING would work (he forgot his password for MONTHS and I continued to pay the bill smh). I tried multiple videos but this one did ! The only issue I had is bc he had a passcode (like the dots) on his, you cant just shut down the phone u actually still need the passcode for that so I had to shut it down using a diff trick I learned from another video which I believe was holding down the power and volume down button simultaneously. Then I followed your steps and its back on like brand new!!! Thank

Thank you. If the phone is not off when you start the process you have to hold power down and power key to do force restart and time the other steps.

for some reason in recovery mode i cant select anything from the list, but can scroll this the volume keys. holding vol + and vol - gets me to custom os install but no buttons work there.
