@reantkent There is no free trial of Pro Tools 9. But, have you seen the Pro Tools bundles on the Avid Store? There are several very affordable ways to begin working with Pro Tools 9 right now. Also, eligible students can purchase Pro Tools 9 Academic for $295 USD.

Question! I have a Presonus Firestudio Project and I'm really interested in buying Pro Tools 9, I know PT9 is supposed to work with all interfaces, but I'm really doubtful, does PT9 work with my Presonus Firestudio Project?

@guitwizzz, Software does affect sound depending on how good it processes A/D and D/A. To me pro tools is the most transparent. Cubase and Logic are good too

What recording program would people recommend? Just for recording instruments and doing MIDI work on the computer and making tunes on the computer, basically anything, any style, type of recording, really broad. Can anybody help me?
