She said she was quitting after LOST as well unless something good came along. She didn't quit then either

She soured on acting after "Lost" She did the Hobbit movies and the Ant Mann movies. Because they were different situations. She enjoyed acting in those movies. She also writes books. So she has options. Acting in another role, might happen if the right situation comes along. So they recast the Wasp role.

Sometimes when actors make an announcement like this they are still under contract for other movies. Jim Carrey did something similar and everyone forgot about Sonic

She said she might return to Hollywood one day.

If her MCU contract is up now, they probably are going to want to pay her less as a result of the failure of Quantumania. She’s probably frustrated with this.

She said she’s quitting FOR NOW. She said the same thing after Lost. How many times has Hugh Jackman said he’s done with wolverine? How many times has Tom Huddleston said he’s done as Loki?

I remember seeing Miss Lilly on TechTV/G4TV way back in the early 2000s before she was even famous for playing Kate Austen in Lost. Sad to hear she's hanging it up altogether. I always enjoyed any role she played. Good luck and god speed, Nicole. ❤️

That doesn't mean Disney is gonna recast the role of the Wasp, even Marvel Studios has no bearing to replace the Casting role on any heroes.

Lot of people seem to think that they can just recast Wasp. And they could. Except, there won't be another Antman movie with the current cast, crew, and maybe even company. It isn't out there yet broadly in the general public because they've fought mightily using their mainstream press con-artist contacts to hide it, but Disney is in dire shape behind the scenes. Disney is like a turtle, on its back, in the desert sun, with nobody around to flip it back upright. As soon as Wall Street figures out the true financial condition of Disney it will be devalued and eventually gobbled up as junk stock unless someone rescues it. And Bob will sail away into the sunset on his yacht, until the cartel he's laundering money for catches up to him. That last sentence may or may not be true. Disney having billions of dollars to piss away causes people to conjecture.

I hope she does come back, the MCU still needs to do The Wasp character justice, hopefully she can come back for Avengers 5 and Avengers Secret Wars!
