Cats are like gardener engines they just keep running I’ve a customer who has a D2 from the 1950s still in use and a 951B both in nice condition, we do repairs and service them he greases them twice a day when in use hope you guys get a good deal have a nice day

👍👌👏 I hope that you are able to make the deal. I also hope that you will be able to change out your screamin' Jimmy relatively easy. I bet that this big ol' Cat has much more torque and can therefore run with less rpm.
2) I would bet that Bus Grease Monkey would like to have respectively buy your old Detroit bus engine.

I've worked on cat motors like the 3406 B through d have yet to work on anything else, but it looks pretty much the same as the rest other than the popcorn maker. Is that a cage of beer I see on the back of that?

The ole bus motor is as much a fixture as all you guys that work there. If she gets taken out of service, I hope you make a proper monument to the good old days out of her. A polished granite base stone with some gold-leaf motor mounts would be a fitting tribute. Tell Matt the Cat motor is for a good cause and he’ll give it to you cause he’s a big softie for a hard luck story. All the best! 🥸👍✅
