In this episode, Charles Wiles looks at the 2016 Nissan Altima which underwent a mid-model facelift. Nissan took the same basic orientation of the previous Nissan Altima which includes the frame and the interior. But, they changed the front-end components such as the fenders, headlights, front grille and the hood giving the 2016 Nissan Altima a new look. Those who love the previous and current generations of Nissan Altima are still very likely to fall in love with the 2016 Altima.
The 2016 edition of the Altima sports an aggressive-looking front grille with incorporated front wind dams. At the rear, Nissan kept the same wing swept tail light design but gave it a new look by inserting a clear panel down the center.
There is not much change to the new Nissan Altima interior except for the fact that Nissan came out with an SR package which has a sportier look. The 2016 still has the familiar Nissan interior features such as the steering wheel radio controls, steering wheel cruise control, handsfree bluetooth, monitors, back-up camera and dual zone climate controls. The SR package features what Nissan calls "sport interior" accents which is a special new texture on the seats. Also specific on the SR package are the paddle shifters.
The Altima SR package also sports a new 18-inch two-tone Aluminum alloy wheel design. The other available models are 2.5, S model, SR and SL.
As for performance and fuel economy, the 2016 Nissan Altima will give you a phenomenal 27 mpg city and 37 mpg highway.
