The All-New Ibis Ripley v5 | First Ride and Impressions

It's finally here. The all new v5 Ibis Ripley. Five years in the making it's time to show off the next generation and it's lookin' REAL good. I gotta say after only a short time on the bike I think Ibis has hit a home run with this one. The change to 130/140mm suspension lands right in the sweet zone of what I think the perfect bike should be.

Thanks for taking time to watch the "comedy guy" talk about a bike for 6 minutes. It's a first for the Calirado Kid channel but it's something I hope to do more of in the future!

I had the v4 Ripley and loved it. Surprisingly plus for "just" a 140mm fork'ed bike. This new one would make a perfect trail bike when I'm not hitting the big enduro trails. Nice job, Calirado!

I like the new look, and yes it looks more like a Yeti and a Pivot - but that's a *good* thing

The word is that it no longer CLIMBS as ZIPPY and as LIGHT as it used to. ITs heavier, all the gains are downhill, plusher and smoother, but no longer the sporty, zippy, nibble bike it was, especially uphill. Surprised you did not mention that.

I haven't ridden Darrington (Salmon falls) in years! 😢

I had some real weird health things happen and haven't been able to really breathe for about 7 years - until I got some excellent drugs recently and now I'm trying to get back into it,
but man I used to ride Darrington 3 to 5 times a week all through the mid to late '90s & into the early 2000s,
but I don't think I've tasted that dirt since '03. 😮‍💨

The heatube angle is like in Cube Reaction TM(Trail Motion) around 67-65 degrees (Canyon Stoic has even slacker) and XM - its M\L on normal bikes.
Its low sit position allow to rider be stable and angle to provide more stability on those speedy trails, that in US called Flow trails.
But its a sick bike tbh
