Forgot to mention in the video:
For all clubs in the Test League, training facilities & youth facilities were all set as 20/20. So the quality of the training facilities did NOT influence the difference in player growth between the senior / youth squads.

What i think would be interesting to test, is having players train in the senior team, but playing in the reserve/youth team

thank you for this there was always so much conflicting opinions on this like "dont place u18 in senior squads because they miss training and get nervous and perform bad in big matches blablabla" and the other was like "place them in the senior team because the reputation etc have huge impact on growth and squad dynamic blablabla"

Hi, I've been playing FM for over 20 years, actually from the beginning (born in the 80's) and I'll tell you very honestly that you are one of the really few people who are the best in FM analytics, and considering your young age you are definitely the best. However, I notice that you have few subscribers and here's my advice - attach ready-made training schdules, you'll see that it will help when it spreads that the EBFM Training Schedule is the best or one of the best on the web :) Separate them into 0/1/2/ matches a week, for the youth team, for the pre-season and inter-season (hardly anyone can tell the difference) and this will strengthen your reach on YouTube even more. Thanks again for your commitment and intelligence!👍

Appreciate all the time and effort that went into this. The differences in growth seem quite small if players are in an age appropriate team vs the first team, which was reassuring since most of the time younger players are not good enough to get 20+ games in the first team. But then when you revealed at the end that league reputation was fixed it opens up the possibility that the difference is much larger in practice. I checked a few U18 and U23 leagues and they all had reputation of 1! Even PL2. So worse than even completely amateur leagues for senior players. So, it really seems that even a 16 year old should be loaned out if he is good enough to play regularly at a lower league team, as long as they also have good training facilities.

How does not playing/few matches in the senior team compare to playing all match in youth/2nd team?

Great video as usual

Fitting these conclusions to a regular save it does seem to be playing time is still the biggest factor. Realistically its probably unlikely your 15/16yo won't be first team standard so unlikely to be able to get near 'regular starter' actual playing time. Given that that the drop off in CA growth between senior and youth squads is only about 2-3 in the experiment means in reality its probably more beneficial to allow these young players to play in the youth teams until they're guaranteed playing time in the senior squad (unless perhaps youth league reputation has an even bigger effect when not standardised to 200). Very interesting though to think about especially when players get to 17yo and are possibly ready for first team game time.

Would love to see an experiment comparing CA growth comparing senior team training facilities + match time with a realistically inferior youth team facilities + matches.

Always suspected it was better to have prospects in first team despite what FM devs say.

Interesting that despite rep being maxed out that reserves and U18s still dropped off at 24. I wonder if this is either an age cap for these leagues, or a cap depending on the players CA so they require first team football at that point.

Love your videos. Any chance you can look into Pressing and what the effects of different options do?

EFBM - I love your work thank you! Can I ask something with all your experience? Would you recommend loaning out a player to below average league with below average facilities on a below average team versus training him at your own club where you have a : optimized training schedule, much better coaches, better mentoring, better facilities? If so at what age does playingtime exceed all these advantages of keeping players in house?
