Looking for a native plant for shade gardens? Or just something a little different than the typical hosta? Consider Heartleaf Foamflower (Tiarella cordifolia)! It's a super cute little plant that has lovely little white spring blooms, and cute heart-shaped leaves. It's a great early spring flower that is visited by native bees and is a great woodland ground cover for shady gardens.

Growing conditions:
Light: partial shade to full shade
Soil: average to moist, well-drained, humus-rich
Soil pH: Acidic (pH less than 6.8)
Bloom time: spring
Bloom colour: white, pink
Size: 15-30cm
Good ground cover - spreads by above-ground runners.

Glad to see your video. You did a great job on the voiceover. I would love that as a ground cover. I love the heart shape as well. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the vid. I’m planning to get some foam flower but I’m unsure if it will do well in our clay woodland. How is yours doing and what type of soil is it growing in? Thanks in advance!
