s4 and htc one both have IR blaster (remote control) which is more responsive and gives more features.

I tried on a sony wega CRT model. And it works. Try going to a sportsbar. Thats a lot of fun.

yes, it's learning your tv remote control buttons and use them corectly

That is complete cheese, I love it but in reality do you use it often?

If your device is not on the supported list, you can learn all of the IR codes directly from your old remote.

I have a unknown brand Chinese TV, will it work on it?

Yes it works but you must have an original remote for that device first. When you go on TV application and go to "add remote" all you need to do is point a old remote control in to HTC ONE IR and it will learn all the functions (buttons) step by step (you have guide for that). gl
