BRICS To Cancel UN VETO: Will US accept?
Показать описание
Many countries in the Global South and BRICS express dissatisfaction with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) veto power system. Their concerns revolve around the concentration of power among the five permanent members which they argue does not reflect the current global geopolitical and economic realities. Despite the paradox that two founding members of BRICS, China and Russia, are also permanent members with veto power, the group have shown support for reforming the Security Council to increase the representation of developing nations and improve the council’s responsiveness to global issues.
