It’s not often I get blown by a random software. Imagine having the quality of RAW files with the size of Jpeg files. That’s basically what Rawsie did. Check out the video to hear my thoughts and see how it works.

Super cool. Haven’t heard about the software before. It really has the potential to solve an issue for all of us which is storage. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you for the video Sir Jiggie. Amazing software for storage. I hope they will eventually provide support on mid-range cameras for Fuji. :)

Sounds great, exactly what I need. Definitely cheaper than more fast drives and as you say, much faster editing.

With uncompressed RAW from a Sony A7R4: 120 MB ARW goes to 15/30 MB DNG, which is great.
But there is no miracle: the quality is clearly degraded, and sometimes appear some bright spots, like dead pixels.
In addition, with my MBP 2019, Adobe DNG Converter (mandatory) crashes each time RAWSIE is launched.
In conclusion, it is better to invest in disk space.

Do you compress before editing or after?

That’s interesting, but I have an off-topic question, if I may: I’m testing out Capture 1 on my A7RIV- I really value your opinion so I’m asking if your workflow is an improvement over Lightroom because I also process 1000s of images in a shoot (sports & events). I like that I can do a lot more without going into pshop. Thanks!

How is it different to Adobes DNG converter, did you compare them?
Looks very interesting

Will this work with the M1 Macs? Is this only for new imports? How would, or could you use this with existing photos in Capture One?

There is also Adobe plugin which can convert to DNG. So how is it defferent or advantageous than Adobe ?

Nice! I wonder how the software would behave in M1 Mac
