Artwork by Take Me Back Pirate Radio Archives. Big up DJ Dlux for kindly giving us this exclusive tape from his personal collection. After doing shows on Weekend Rush, Format FM, Underground FM, Innersense FM, DJ DLux joined Pressure FM, at the beginning of 1996. He used his show and involvement with the station as leverage to promote his legendary record shop, Togetherness Records, in Leytonstone East London (back then it was a registered ticket outlet for all the major Jungle raves and supplied the very best vinyl in cutting edge underground music). Dlux worked in his record shop with Bizzy B and MC Jubilee. It is also where he introduced Jubilee to MCing. DLux also worked with the likes of Diesele (East Co) who went on to be a Grime MC and other MCs like Asher Mic, MC Wicked, MC Spidey G, MC Onyx Stone, MC 2Ton, MC Riko Dan, MC Trixster, Stamina MC, and many others. DLux used his Pressure FM show to test out many of his own productions, such as the Mr Bond tracks. Note that DLux had an exclusive unreleased remix of Mr Bond with Stevie Hyper D which is still sought after by vinyl junkies and Junglists. He has a vast archive of dub plates which he played back then that never got officially released until recently: The Lost Dats Vol. 1 - 7.
There was a brief moment when Pressure FM merged with Kik FM before the owner DJ Rusher ran into issues staying on air. Pressure FM came to an end towards the end of the summer of 1996 and subsequently most of the DJs and MCs including DLux left to join a Jungle pirate radio station called Rinse FM, which took over from them.
Towards the end of 1996, DLux continued playing Jungle but started taking an interest in UK Garage music. He was fortunate to own a record shop I where he met the owner of the legendary Deja Vu FM and began the process of getting a show on there. The waiting list for shows on Deja Vu FM was very long, but DLux was given show on Deja whilst still playing Jungle sets on Rinse FM. As Garage music was growing in popularity, DLux left Rinse FM to solely play Garage on Deja.

1996 was a formidable year for Jungle productions where we saw the proliferation of Jungle record labels, producers, record shops, raves and pirate radio stations. Big up the crew that remember the big tunes of 1996:
